    LOL.

After reading this, somehow my imagination puts the events more like....The fight begins as you slowly circle around each other while throwing feints. The crowd jeers and taunts in the background. Someone in the audience is frying chicken in a vat of Crisco and nobody knows why. Suddenly, at the same moment, you both slip and fall in a rogue patch of Crisco and suffer equally serious injuries. On the way to the hospital you take the time to wonder if Crisco is really the best choice for every situation.

    But that's just me (;

Eh, probably true. I was Jesus for Halloween a couple years back. I may have partook excessively from the holy flask and portrayed the good man in a bad light on that one occasion.

Just a friendly bit of caution. Never use water to try and put out a Crisco fire.

The OP, poor guy, wish he was still around, could of given him a few tips based on my own experiences. I once dated a girl who was into martial arts, she did TKD and was pretty good at it from what I saw. I knew nothing of martial arts, yet we were really into each other and I was perfectly OK with her doing it, actually pretty impressed and awestruck at her spirit of perseverance and her heart. Kind of a turn on really :p

I went to watch her in a class once and she tried to get me to sign up as well but it wasn't really up my alley but I didn't mind her doing it. She was taller than me. I'm average height, stocky, wide shoulder frame. She said because I'm a little bit short, I'd be good at it, but I have no idea why, forgot to ask her lol. She really wanted to spar me by the sound of it, setting me up for that, knowing I was not experienced. She admitted she had a touch of sadism so I'm glad I didn't put myself in that situation hahaha.

Anyway, long story short, it didn't work out between us, not because of the martial art but because of the way she treated me. She had a lot of anger issues and she'd sometimes use her TKD to throw her weight around, not just with me but with others as well.

Once she cried in my arms, telling me how she was raped by her own uncle when she just a child. In an attempt to comfort her, I told her one of my own secrets as well, what happened to me and what I did in a moment of clouded judgment, once and never again and she judged me for it...harshly.

After I opened up to her as well about a mistake from my past, an hour later (this was still in the beginning), I asked her if her and I could give the whole serious relationship thing a shot. And I was like, why not? Let's see where it goes. You know what she told me? ''I prefer you as a friend. I don't date weak men. If we were in a serious relationship, I'd take you and break you over my knee''.

The abrupt harshness of her words really came out of nowhere, this after I opened up to her after she opened up to me just moments ago and I responded without judgment and was compassionate. At the time, that had really cut me deep inside because I've gone through a lot in my life and I persevered and tried to be a decent person and yet get told this so coldly. I was not a saint either in the relationship sometimes but she really tried to emasculate me a couple of times, which I felt was unfair and uncalled for. We all make mistakes and when there's no room for understanding, then it just leads to more hurt and suffering.

Anyway, after our eventual falling out (our relationship became a rollercoaster ride pretty much after that day), I went through a very dark period in my life, questioning what had happened. I knew I was not weak, that her words were not accurate about my own perception of myself so you know what I did? At the time, I was a bit overweight, not in the best shape, so I started working out like a madman, not for her or for anyone really, but for me.

I lifted weights, played football for hours with my mates on long summer nights, swam, did fitness training and ran almost every day.

Before I knew it, I was fitter than I'd ever been, in shape, feeling healthy and getting ripped. I didn't do it for her though, she had been long gone. I did it for myself to prove her wrong in my mind and to prove myself right.

So in a way, her harsh words and the rollercoaster relationship we had kind of planted within my subconscious mind, to be my own man and to help me explore the truth behind her lies which had kind of messed me up at the time. Now I don't give two damns about what others think about me. I know I'm not ''weak'', whatever that really is anyway. I had proved her wrong in my own mind and it felt fudging great!

Even to this day, I do my own thing, wild and free. So I guess there can be good taken from anything, even the ''bad'' experiences one has. I was going to tell the OP to just do him and be accepting of her regardless because we all truly are not exactly the same. We have different things that make us tick and that doesn't make one better or worse than the other.

    Peace!

I can see I am not welcome here. But decided to post after seeing the comment made by Endolphins. Whom I wish I could contact by private but for some reason it is not possible.

Yes, something similar happened. Oddly the following comic book gives a near detail of what happened.

You are more than welcome provided you don't do something like wait a year, necro a thread that you had already necroed and crapped on only to crap on it again, set it on fire and then smear the flaming poop all over your chest whilst singing "Be a man" by Randy Savage

    ....oh
