This might be a very silly question, but I'm new to this eating healthy business.

I was wondering how you know what was in each food, like protein, carbs, and fat?

Also, how do you know what your intake should be in each of these categories / day?

What is the equation to figure out how many calories you've eaten, and how many calories you've burned off?

    Thanks,

    No not silly at all!

Here is a good page Diet Development ... click on the various links for answers to most of your questions.

You can print out most of the pages for easy reference.

Here is a Calories Expended Calculator

    Good Luck!

Also, if anyones interested; Nancy Clarks 'Nutrition Guidebook' is one of the best in the business IMHO. It is a realy easy read and makes it very easy to soak up the info as it is not like a text book. I recommend it to my clients every time.
