While I agree with most of your stuff in this thread.... these bits of kit are a handy piece to have around. I've used them for a couple of years. Don't underestimate these... you can get wrecked off a single session. They aren't the be all end all... but they provide good variety in training sessions and yes despite the oh-so-soccer-mom sales pitch... they are great to train with. They can also be quite valid for training people who can't do high impact stuff at the moment due to injury. I admit the sales pitch is a turn off. From a product design standpoint... it's a brilliant program. Cost almost nothing to ship. Material costs to make are almost nothing. Money spinner.
I agree with Slip on this one. I've seen a number of top trainers using sliding type exercises as part of their routines and if you can't afford a slide board then these would work well. There are a number of bits of kit that are aimed at one market (soccer mons etc) that can be adapted for other stuff. I have some cheap, short, rubber 'pilates' bands that I use for prehab and as a way of attaching weights between my ankles, the sales pitch on these is aimed at yoga/pilates people.
