Could the front squat be a substitue for the back squat? I have a huge imbalance in my legs (because of some defect at birth) and when I backsquat my left leg struggles so much and my right seem to do almost all the work, but in front squat it seems a bit more even. Anyways what's your opinion on a front squat substituing for the back squat? Would it be ok to or should I just suck it up and keep back squating?

Why don't you try unilateral training i.e. training one leg at a time? This will allow your left leg to catch up with your right.... or at least it'll mitigate the imalance.

What would be a good way to go about unilateral training? What exercises could I do to strengthen it?

You could always work around front squats, good mornings, and RDLs. Some unilateral leg training would be good depending on how well your legs are able to stabilize.
