Starting in October one of my clubs starts giving competition training for those who'd like to... well, compete. I'm pretty sure, I will give it a try and end up being a human punching bag. Hospital and emergency rooms soon! So there! Hmm... somehow I think, I screwed up the idea behind the thread
Got my pic taken with Mauricio Gomes and Daniel Strauss today So there. And I ate loooooads of ice cream!
I'm home from deployment, and back in the Dojo. I'm very sore from an intense class of body conditioning and sparring. I feel great. So there!
I'm sitting on my couch and are massaging the belly from one of my cats for at least ten minutes. And doubt I get to stop anytime soon. So there! Ooh, and got to try some groundwork on one of my teachers earlier and didn't totally screw up
Big HAVOC day today. Hannibal is hosting a seminar with Professor James Hundon and Darren Tibon, which is the first time that's happened outside of the US. I'll be training with John Titchen again, as he prepares one of his students for a black belt grading. So there.
Meetin Sifu Ben Gash for a seminar.. again! So there oh and some dude called "Warmonger?" Warhammer?"... Josh something..
I was drinking mead with Grandmaster Darren Tibon and Professor James Hundon last night whilst watching the fight - so there!
Despite a hurty toe I did some excellent standing grappling drills with John Titchen and his students yesterday. So there.
Today, my head gear, which I got from Ch... Pretty in Pink , was put to good use. Sort of. Maybe not in the exact way, we thought about. But used. Apparently the kids love it They even used it to break the board by headbutting it And one made sure to get all of his sweat out of it, so the next one has to get his own sweat inside So, yeah, that's what happens when it's only two kids in class for some reason So there! Sorry for the "play" sign in the middle; I wanted a screenshot in which the kid is not possible to get recognized.
Me and a training partner were on a tonfa-seminar yesterday. I even think we left a tiny impression on the instructor*, because we were mostly the only ones that dared to answer if the shown was understood. And we were definitively the only ones who managed to roll forward on command - sounds great, right? Well, was actually rather pathetic: He stated clearly to roll on his command and then went on: Ok, so rolling forward-" everybody but us rolled. "Nice, that at least two listen to me. Rolling forward - now, please." I will have to remember to annoy a blackbelt friend of mine, who was there as well, with that *said instructor was the same one, who made my kickboxing tori cringe during his DAN-grading and would have let him failed But no hard feelings there from anyway: Neither him, nor my partner. Me at the very least, since I was assured to have done well lol So, yeah: Tonja-seminar with only around 12 people. So there!
After opening our Saturday morning kids karate class back in April 14' with the 4 venue relocations that followed (including our original hall) due to an ever increasing volume of students, and the eventual need for a waiting list for new intakes (not ideal in this saturated market) we TODAY open our brand spanking new mid-week kids session, with new sign ups already into double figures... ...So there!
