(also, what's he saying in the last video?)
Have they added sound effects to the last vid LOL!! Or is the floor something weird? I reminds me of an old Shaw brothers film heh heh!! LFD
Definitely it's the flooring... some kind of firm mat. You can see it wrinkle a bit when someone steps on it hard. Anyway, I enjoyed the clips. Is the middle-aged sifu in the first two clips the elderly guy in the last one? Either way, as a guy in my mid-fifties I get a real kick out of seeing old guys who can still move like that. As a Southern stylist, I find their Northern kicking very impressive, but I wonder how well they can apply their technique if someone can close on them. I'd liked to have seen some sparring clips showing some more contact. Still, their training is hard core so I'm sure these guys are tough.
yup, same sifu. i loved the sparring clips, as although not being the epitome of effectiveness, it's certainly SOMETHING, and shows a very well developed use of the legs as combative tools. certainly something i think would work against a random punk on the street, and i'd say that if you give them a couple months of boxing training to learn not to do random crap while up close and punchable, that kind of stuff could be quite nasty indeed. that said, it's COOL AS <BEEP>
