    Wu Zu Quan

I took Wu Zu Quan (5 ancestor fist) in the Chee Kim Thong lineage. Supposedly, this is a video of him:

I will offer no lineage, history, theory, ging styles, or propaganda about the style because it is not relevant to the style. I will offer my interpretation, examples, and summation of the training as I feel it is relevant to my experience. Though I feel my sifu was very knowledgeable and suspect that he mostly followed the curriculum and principles of the style, he is not completely recognized by the major CKT Wuzu organizations in existence.

Wuzu quan contains 5 major aspects:

Monkey - fast footwork, quick, close to the ground, close in attacks and defenses
Crane - high, long footwork, long arm attacks, accurate attacks
Lohan - well rounded, changes levels often, sticks less, attacks balance often
Bodhidharma - internal, coordinates attacks with breath, swallows, returns
Taizu - has an iron body, attacks with the palms and the finger tips, uses isometrics (the Charles Atlas kind)

The style contains the major aspects of each style, which I have summarized.

We did basics training (footwork, line work, punches, kicks, blocks), partner training (blocks, returns, kicks, etc). We did forms and we did catchings, which are more like testing the other persons form than 2 man training:

The basic 1 man form was like this (our stances were narrower and higher):

We would do basics, calisthenics and form work 2 days a week and light to medium sparring 2 days a week. Did that for about 4 years

    JLSPM

I did JLSPM for about 2 years. Mostly was trapping. We focused on hooking - trapping where you focus on controlling joints with joints - you use the wrist, elbow or shoulder, to control the wrist, elbow or shoulder. You mostly use the wrist. Focus on sticking and controlling. Focus on spitting and swallowing. Focus on strong stances, and short power.

Here are some of the few videos I can endorse. Louie Jack Man:

    Gin Foon Mark:

I wish there were more videos of the SPM stuff out there - it's really pretty sick when one can put it to use. If you look up Gin Foon Mark you can find a few demos, but no sparring. My coach had great hand skills. The guy could cut you up quick. I know there are more senior students and I'd love to see them in action.

It just doesn't work like that though - the SPM guys don't want their videos on the net.

I am another Wuzuquan guy, trained for 7 years. Yohan has pretty much summed it all up, so no need for me to repeat.

Nice find on the Chee Kim Thong video Yohan! His videos were always hard to find/well hidden.
