June 02, 2023 I need someplace to post a training log, no matter how simple the log may be, in order to keep myself in line. So I'm back at MAP, with a few changes, I will not get into any political discussions. I am not political nor am I democrat or republican, but I have discovered on multiple sites that If you say something negative in a political thread, you are immediately attack by both sides as being the other side. nuff said there. I have officially stop training Yang style after 30 years. The hard stop was when I talked with my shifu about training with him again and he began telling me bout his back issues and how he was not up to it. He and I have had 3 fallings out over 30 years, and this was not a falling out, but it was telling me it is tine for a change. Nothing against Yang style, I just cold not get myself do do it any more But I have not stopped Taijiquan, I have been focusing on Sun style, the short form I learned from Jesse Tsao. But I changed it a bit, and I think after 30 years of taijiquan and my years of xingyiquan, it was ok. I basically changed 3 postures to more xingyiquan, and it seems to fit me more. I discovered a Sun style school that is from Tim Cartmel that is in the same town that my youngest will be going to college in, so maybe I will get there once in a while. And since I have broken from my shifu I have also discovered I enjoy working on Wu style again. My Yang shifu hates Wu style. I have also discovered a Northern Wu style school on route form my house to mystic youngest's soon to be college. So maybe I'll get a chance to check that out too. I don't think I will pursue Wing Chun much further, its a great style, just not for me. I am looking into 2 other styles, I have to stop by and see if the school is still there. I am going to talk to him about Modern Jujutsu and Irish stick fighting. And currently my retirement date is anytime after March 2027

June 05, 2023 My shoulder has been bothering me for about 2 months so I finally got it checked today.... the Doc thinks I have Rotator cuff tendinitis...I didn't even know that was a thing. So I got a cortisone shot and I was told not to lift anything heavy and give a whole lot of stretches and exercises to do. I will list them tomorrow.So the routine will be a bit different for a few weeks 20 minutes stationary bike Stretching Yoga, standing poses and a few hip stretches Sun Style Wuji standing Sun Taijiquan, my customized form Wuji standing Wu Style - form I am working on Shoulder rehab stretches and exercises Crunches/Leg raises

July 03, 2023 Been doing a regular aerobic routine, but I have also been dealing with a gastritis flare up. Going to call the MD after the 4th, his office is closed until Wednesday. Still doing shoulder exercises I was given by my orthopedic Doc. Still have a shoulder issue, I will see him again mid-July Going to bring Yoga back into the routine today Still working on Sun and Wu Taijiquan But bottomline, I'm old, arthritic and falling apart.... but I'm still trying to fight it
I hope you will be able to see the doc soon. It is great you are not giving up on training even through your issues. Hopefully the exercising will be beneficial.
