Number of the Beast is a bit of a transitional album though. Don't get me wrong, Maiden are a far better band technically, but I just like the rawness of the Soundhouse Tapes and the first two albums. There's possibly a bit of a punk edge to it too, not surprising when you consider the era they were released. I kinda lost interest with Somewhere in Time and dropped them by Seventh Son. All a bit prog-rock for me. Three or four chords and no solos became more interesting.
Come back when your favourite bands have actually been considered as greats and changed the face of music and society!
The BSB ushered in an era of manufactured pop bands and cheesy music videos. How is that not influencing music and society?!
Quite a terrible thing to say about people from the city you claim is the greatest thing since you owned a quarter of the planet, show some love for the men of Manchester, Redcoat, you do it every Saturday night, why not now?
Oh, the city is fantastic. The best, even. Doesn't mean some of the people - including musicians - are, though. Oasis, anyone? Ew. And really, is there any need to redirect your insecurities about your sexualiy into subtle insults against me? We don't judge here, mate. You're welcome to dance along Canal Street in a gold thong all night long and no-one will bat a false eyelash.
Nah man, dancing in Canal Street would require being in Manchester, i'll meet you half way and we can go clubbing in Berlin, you can admire the spoils of war and we can sort ourselves out in a haze of techno and sweat.
