so what are some of the pro's and cons of white wax wood and rattan for stick work. like the 2 foot stick fighting and such?

    Waxwood is more dense.

Rattan is a training tool and used because it doesn't break people very easily, if you were fighting with intent to seriously harm you would use a hardwood, preferably a very dense one.

As a training tool rattan is pretty good because it absorbs impact (doesn't transmit vibration to the hand) and tends to fray and bend rather than shatter, and it is relatively cheap.

For someone who hopes to never be hit with a rattan stick, its deeply worrying to learn they're deemed the "nice" option

Wood being cracked across the skull may make a different sound, but the person getting hit will not be concern what type of wood hit them

They're nice in the same sense that dying in your sleep is "nice." Compared with falling into a combine harvester, sure. Compared with not dying, not so much.
