Glass Jaw Yes, Walker, I don't know when this particular weak spot was discovered in boxing as Capt. John Godfrey who trained under Figg and wrote one of boxing's first manuals in the early 1700's doesn't mention it... He refers to the following targets - A blow under the ear A blow between the eyebrows A blow to the stomach A blow to the diaphragm, just below the breast-bone Louie
Louie, Doesn't Mazzoro (16th Century Italian Wrestling Master) go into pressure Points in one of his manuals? I could be hallucinating, but I could of sworn that I saw some of his writings, that were quite detailed on points to push, pinch or strike? Can you shed any light on that?
Hi SoKKlab Mazzoro manual is one of the few manuals I've been unable to download because of my internet connection.... Hopefully someone else can shed some light on this.... My copy of Albrecht Dürers Fechtbuch of the 1500's clearly shows fingers being thrust into areas around the neck, palm strikes to the head, etc. See attatched illustration below..... Louie
