I recently re-installed windows (XP sp2) on my computer to try and solve various problems that had built up over the years. It's working a little better now, but whenever I load up windows I get a message "Cannot complete mailing request as there is no default mail client. Please set up Microsoft Outlook" or something like that! This would seem to me to imply that something is trying to send an e-mail without my say so. McAfee antivirus can't find anything - does anyone have any suggestions to stop this annoying popup?

    Thank you!

Sounds odd as that doesn't sound like a standard Windows/Outlook message.

Type "msconfig" at the Run command and see if anything strange is running at startup

Couldn't see anything strange configured to run at startup. Googled all the file names I didn't recognise and they all seem genuine. Will keep poking around the web to see if there's anything I can do.
