Regarding the first video: (1) Straighten up! You're hunching your upper back and jutting your head forward. (2) I'd like to see more intent and intensity in each technique.
I'll watch the other vids later, but on vid 1: Miltov's point one is because you're tall and not built like a brick outhouse. I say that because it's sometimes the same for me. I actually have issues relaxing my shoulders, and us tall lean people never make most katas look as good as when the short people do them! As for Miltov's second point: I take your point about murdering Chinto. If you did Shotokan I'd be saying up the intensity, but you don't and I understand that different styles use power in a different way. However, I'd still say that it looked a little as if you were just going through the motions. It also seemed when your fist was in hikite it looked quite limp, which let your elbow come out, altering your posture and making it look a little sloppy at times. Apart from that, I enjoyed it. Especially the punching your opponent and him jumping just ever so slightly so he could hit the ground
Hahahaha...that's really funny because I'm 5'6", 200 lbs. That made my morning :hat: Yeah, I should have been clearer. While I am used to a more Shotokan-style of kata, it was the "going through the motions" feel that bothered me, not the lack of Shotokan-style snappiness. Anyway, good on you for soliciting constructive criticism.
Part of the "going through the moves" feel is my fault for agreeing to do a kata that I was only familiar with for about 2.5 - 3 weeks. But, I defiantly agree that it shouldn't be that way. Hopefully the next time I have a kata vid go up that won't appear to be the case =)
I hate short, big people. Means I have to get twice as low to the ground! But happy my rule has been proven!
