And also probably the best coach I have ever seen in action I give you Neil Adams not just the UK's best judoka but I'd argue the best grappler we have produced at his peak The tai otoshi as 2mins is a thing of beauty and what can I say about the rolling armbar And an example of his brilliant coaching Another example of making teaching looked easy I was lucky enough to be at this session
Neil taught at an MAI super seminar I went to years back. The guy has thumbs like two meaty chicken drum sticks!
On my bucket list of people I want to train with...Amazing instructor and athlete. Loved those videos thanks for posting.
The stupid thing is I can go to a seminar with neil for £20, but can expect to pay twice that at least for a bjj or no gi seminar from.someone who couldn't last 5seconds with him on the mat He is a rare man who can coach as well as he could compete
It might be apocryphal but I've heard some Gracies went to Neil to get some pointers on the juji gatame.
Just to add to this I came across this today showing Neil doing Randori in 93. Absolute joy to watch and he throws around his dan grade partner like they were doing training drills. Awesome...
Wow, 25 years on and he's still as sharp, if not sharper! The way he shuts down the throw attempts with those grips and timing
When he did a seminar at my old gym we all lined up for his arm bar lol, I pitted his uki on the throws no gi his takedowns were just as good
