Spoiler Conor McGregor comes across as the type of psychopath who, in response to Jose Aldo's vicious leg kicks, will remove his own leg and proceed to beat Aldo to death with it. Genuinely scary man.
Spoiler http://fightland.vice.com/blog/jack-slack-how-conor-mcgregor-dispatched-of-dennis-siver. A Nice breakdown of Connors fight!
Spoiler he is koing strikers who cant wrestle and who dont have knock out power, he is being overhyped just like his stable mate was before losing his first fight
Spoiler I'm sure aldo will be more than happy to remove it for him like he did with the California kids leg and save him the bother lol
I agree it must be terrible to be currently or almost undefeated in the highest league of mma competition. Hahaha!
Spoiler It is when you are practically unproven and have to face a guy who hasn't lost in a decade and has pretty much cleaned house in his division.
Spoiler As impressed I am with McGregor, who does have serious talent. I honestly think he should go up against Mendes first, who gave Aldo a bit of a run before getting beaten. Just to see how he does with someone of such wrestling calibre and punching power. Connor is really flexible and apparently has great ground game. You can see it in his workouts and warm ups, with the smoothness of his movements. Bendo got robbed. I am a massive Cerrone fan but he clearly lost that and he knew, you can see him crying. Cathal also stole his.... I had Spencer at 3-0
Spoiler Well, no sympathy here. Bendo has been the beneficiary of close decisions that I think he should have lost in the past.
Spoiler I wonder why you are on his band wagon ?? i think any one being objective would admit he looks a good fighter and has a unique style that has worked aainst the opponents the ufc have picked for him, and his record is good, i mean yes he is in the highest league of MMA competition and undefeated, but if anyone thinks he has fought the best fighters in the league yet, or that he isnt being protected to some extent with the match ups he has had, well then they are letting their gym loyalties cloud their judgement just a little
Spoiler They should hold the fight at Anfield Stadium. Fly in 22,000 rabid Brazilian MMA fans and ferry-in the other half of the stadium from Dublin ( though there oughta be enough in Liverpool ) and let the cameras roll. There be some compelling match-ups.
Spoiler Yeah, but he has made a really boring division exciting, so I don't care that his matches have been carefully selected. He gets to fight Aldo next in what will be the biggest featherweight fight the UFC has ever seen. And if Aldo smashes him up, then it will just reconfirm how awesome Aldo is, and if McGregor wins we get more McGregor. I see no downsides.
I have seen nothing from him yet to indicate to me that he will be able to handle Edgar or Mendez. The strange "coincidence" that he has not been tested against any of the elite wrestlers in the division leaves me wondering. I think Frankie Edgar would take him down and pound him out. I think Mendez would do the same. And I don't think he is going to beat Aldo either. Siver was able to leg kick him frequently, and shoot on him. Conor got back up but Siver is not a specialist in either of those things and if Siver can do them, you can be damn sure that Aldo will smash his legs, and Edgar/Mendez will take him down.
For sure It'll be a lot more complicated then his last few matches, its likily he'll lose, and come back better, MMA isnt / shouldnt be about being undefeated, it should be about fighting the best, learning from your loses and being game. So far the plan seems to be working - http://severemma.com/2015/01/conor-mcgregor-draws-the-highest-ratings-in-the-history-of-ufc-on-fox/
Thankfully I know there's a lot of higher calibre fighters left, and he's yet to face high levels wrestlers in the UFC, should be fun finding out eh!
Whilst I'm here.... That was a slick guard pass to mount at the end - http://i.gyazo.com/720cb99b7cc182f08eaf6cb3af2dd960.gif
