The whole "Disintegration" album by the Cure, also the title track from their "Faith" album. Early Cure stuff's pretty miserable in general "Two Winters Only" by My Dying Bride. All MDB stuff's fairly depressing, but this is them at their miserable best "Here Alone Again" by This Ascension "Something I Can Never Have" by Nine Inch Nails The Tori Amos cover of "Smells Like Teen Spirit" is really sad as well There are loads more I could think of; my CD collection's pretty dark I find chart music terribly depressing for the most part because it makes me realise how many morons there are in the country that will buy that crap

Hang on isn't that the really annoying one with the whining man who can't annunciate properly???Yes I get VERY depressed listening to it!
The last time I was home, my sister was singing the chorus all week and I kept asking her what it was. Eventually she got very annoyed and copied it onto a cd for me with the name written on it in big letters.
Its a classic: I hurt myself today to see if I still feel I focus on the pain the only thing that's real the needle tears a hole the old familiar sting try to kill it all away but I remember everything what have I become? my sweetest friend everyone I know goes away in the end and you could have it all my empire of dirt I will let you down I will make you hurt I wear this crown of thorns upon my liar's chair full of broken thoughts I cannot repair beneath the stains of time the feelings disappear you are someone else I am still right here what have I become? my sweetest friend everyone I know goes away in the end and you could have it all my empire of dirt I will let you down I will make you hurt if I could start again a million miles away I would keep myself I would find a way

Well, I wouldn't call those sad (the Queen and Dire Straits ones are dire though) - I've Always thought Streets of London was fairly optimistic, and Four Seasons in One Day is introspective, but not sad. One of the sadder songs I can think of is "Unbreak My Heart" (Toni Braxton). Another couple of oldies are "Without You" (Nilsson), and Goodbye Yellow Brick Road (Elton John).
Yes ,because it reminds me how good they used to be before it all went wrong and they released Urnam Hymns!!
