    Hi,
What are the relationships between different styles of aikido. I've heard a few different names, e.g. Yoshinkan, Shodokan, Aikikai, Iwama.

Are these all different styles, or, for example is Aikikai, a higher level descrpition encompassing differnt styles.

Are there other main, legitimate, styles?

The Aikikai so far as I know are the original organisation set up by O Sensei to over see Aikido. Other styles are generaly branches of the Aikikai, associated with the Aikikai in some way, have broken away completley or are martial arts developed independantly that also use the word Aikido in their name.

    This link might help. http://www.aikidoaus.com.au/dojo/docs/styles.htm
