Sheild (Q for Louie)

    What is the name of the sheild that u show on your website? Also what size is it? This is the one you show with the sword and dirk/dagger.

    Targe Shield

    Hi Boards...

    It's a 'targe' used by both Irish and Highland warriors up until the mid-1700's.
    I believe it was also carried by a few highland regiments in the American wars.

    Mine's ugly, but it has to be since I train with it... and it's home made. :eek:

    Pretty indeed. I would love to own one but it would have to hang on my wall because they are just way too pretty to spar with.

    I actually saw some Scottish reenactors in Scottland kill a rather nice looking targe using a mace and a axe.....it was kinda sad. A pretty targe should be hung on a wall or used as an accesorry if you do that whole reenactment thing, not brutally murdered with impact weapons....
