After a very hard rank test on Sunday, my wife and I were given our results tonight and are now 6th KYU (green belt) in Shotokan Karate. Now the whole house is full of green belts, my son passed his 6 KYU test last month.
Awesome! It must feel great to have your whole family involved....I only wish I could could my wife into MA. My oldest son is 6, but he's not ready to do any MA yet...needs to learn to listen first! My other son is only 18 months...so I've got a while to wait. The wife just isn't interested. I'm super jealous of you! Congrats to your whole family!
Thanks everyone! CDNhammer, keep working on your wife, maybe you can talk her into it. My wife didn't really have much interest in it either but since we were sitting and watching our son for and hour twice a week, I told her that we should try it instead of sitting around. We started one day a week, which soon turned into two days a week and then now we all take class three days a week. My wife is move competitive and does much better than I do at the tournaments now.
