nah, from what I just caught tonite, Bryan is OUT and so is Jonathan !

    There are 6 left.

From what I remember (and the sangria is kicking in) is Ilram, Chris, Jackson, Jessen (who made a return due to Eric's injury), and 2 others (???)

Yeah, just saw it. Bryan R is out, Jonathan is out, Michelle is out and Jessen is out. Damn rules, Jessen looked pretty good up there.

    Oh so Jessen is out.

Well I can't remember the others for some reason.

Obviously they didn't look good ;)

Well, yeah, we all know Jessen and Bryan were the prettiest :p

Be careful...we don't need any more rants. They just cause drama.

Am I the only one disappointed that Eric was injured and couldn't continue?

I was way more impressed with his fighting than I was with Jessen.

The pick for Final Fu Is...

    Hi all-
I DON'T see FF until its repeated late night. I say Jackson wins it all, possibly Chris. Plus, Michelle was the prettiest (surely not Bryan R) and Kick Chick destroys all of them. That's my story, and I'm sticking to it!

    God bless all-

Final Thoughts On The Final Fu

Hi all-now that Daniel has secured his $25,000, I have to say that as the weeks went on, I gained more respect-grudgingly. The kids have talent. My biggest knock, as always: For all the kicking and punching, does each of those people study an art that is appropriate for THEM? That's something every martial artist should ask his or her self. That's why if the contact had been more realistic, if takedowns/throws/grappling had been allowed as part of the scoring, perhaps we could better judge who was the Final Fu. Two examples:

From the show-Gemma. If winning and losing were based solely on effort, she wins easily. She was praised by Ernie Reyes, Jr. for her heart and rightfully so. But at 4'9", she had a tough time. The one time I saw her fight, she had great difficulty getting inside to land shots. She studies TKD, but does her short stature limit her ability to reach with her kicks? Is she learning how to get inside? Is she emphasizing speed/cardio so that she can wear out an opponent or attacker? Does she have ground skills, or is someone just going to pick her up and toss her around (or WORSE) once she hits the ground?

Second-myself. I DON'T always like having to carry a cane around. Sometimes, even though I am in MUCH better shape, I have to lean on it in narrow spaces, curbs, etc. I DON'T like looking weak. Otherwise, thank the Lord Jesus, I try to carry the cane in such a way by my side so that it maintains my balance and it is always ready. The fastest gun (or cane) in a fight in a fight is the one that is already in your hand when the trouble starts. Plus, at 5'3" (six inches taller than Gemma) I ain't going to overpower most. But-a system/instructor that lets me strengthen my legs while emphasizing my upper body strength is AWESOME. The cane is perfect-FOR ME. I can't outkick the lovely Kick Chick, for example, with my own legs, but with my cane, I've evened the odds a bit. I can strike anywhere on the body, get inside and/OR control distance against an opponent/attacker. The cane can be used to throw, choke, lock. If I fall and the cane is with me, I can still defend myself.

Does all this mean that I learn with the cane only? NO! Should Gemma fend off an attacker by saying "You're too tall, please go away."?! Do I tell a thug if I lose the cane, "Hey listen, my knees are sore so I don't feel like grappling on the sidewalk?" No-IF YOU have to protect yourself in a real life situation, does your art work for you? I HAVE to learn choke holds, arm bars, kicks, stomps, etc, "Canemaster" may not have 'Excalibur" (yes, the cane has a name) at his disposal one day. If I ain't prepared for that situation, all I'll be able to do is pray. No amount of colored belts and framed certificates will matter.
That's why, with all the pretty boys, ladies that trained with Ernie Reyes Jr. and Sr, and made the show,(that's another topic for another day) models turned martial artists and light contact scoring system, it may never matter who is/was the Final Fu (unless I am asked on the show of course ;)

    God Bless All,

    Canemaster

There is an article about the winner Daniel Sterling.

I TIVO'd the shows but a few fast forwarded views of a few was all I could take.

Maybe I'll watch the last one where Dan wins tonight.

I have to admit that I got into it, but I missed the last two episodes. :( Glad to hear that Daniel won, I'd seen him fight several times, and thought he was quite good.

Tivo huh? That would have been handy. :bang:
