Medieval Training Illustration

    Some medieval training can be found in this illustration - hand & half training, lifting/throwing rocks, backflipping(?) between two upright swords, and in the background what might be a figure holding a short weighted pike/lance (or early gun?) while another holds an oval shield (or target?)

    I always thought javelin catching was a great olympic event, but your favorite competitors so very rarely return to compete again... :confused: :dunno:
