osaka is where most of japan's ****o-ryu karate is headquartered, so you'll probably find karate everywhere (and likely good karate). having never been there, i can't advise much, but fwiw you could always give the hayashi-ha ****o-ryu peeps a visit (that's the branch i started with)

well, the thread is in the krotty forum and he specified "friendly" dojos, so i'd wager that as long as it's krotty and the dojo has a healthy atmosphere, anything goes :p

This one has an English friendly website, so it may be worth contacting them, and introducing yourself?

    Hi All,

Actually don't care what the martial art is or what the style is as long as they are friendly, welcome visitors and don't charge a 'special' price for the stupid gaijin :) :) :)
