hey ive been thinking about taking kung fu but i dont know what style would be right for me. i have been training in tang soo do and hapikido so i dont know if there is anything that can relate to it. im also very flexible i figure that its a highly important thing for kung fu but i dont want to just assume.

Depending upon local availability to you and or/ your preference and purpose. There are so many systems of Kung Fu and each one is different in its methodology etc.

So bearing mind what you have said about your training in HKD and TSD.

I'd say that your skills (HKD and TSD) would transfer very nicely into a good and proper Northern Kung Fu system like Meihuazhuang (Plum Flower Post Boxing), which is very big on throws and locks (about the same emphasis as HKD), as well as everything else, same goes for some systems of Bagua, depending on the style. that's of course, if they are available near you, MZH is quite rare outside of China, but they're are teachers about, so if NYC is near you, it may be worth travelling.

For more snippets of info see either for classes and clubs:

Or, for info on some common styles and what they are/ do/ don't / have etc.

    Enjoy.
