I started a tea thread in the Chinese forum and then thought about the relevance to Japan too and tea being so central to the culture. I really love Sencha Green tea , really lovely.
Has anyone ever taken part in a tea ceremony? I haven't but would really like to.

i went to a tea ceremony last month. there was a big story in the newspaper the next day with a pic of my friend and i drinking the tea. :p

it's really interesting. idunno if i'd do it again, cuz you just kneel for ages before you finally get a cup of tea. :p

the tea is really good though. because they handmake it, and stir it up with this wooden brush thingy, it gets really frothy.

    totemo oishii!

the okashi (snacks) you get with it are really yummy, and incredibly beautiful too. though if you eat more than two they start to make you feel really sick!

i drink oolong pretty much all day at work. but i've now introduced them to the wonder that is sugary ceylon. ahhhh cultural exchange... :D
