Is it worth doing bagua to improve tai chi?

Nothing in that vid really looks anything like bagua that I've seen.

Does Bagua applied look like circle walking?

I don't know the answer to that as I'm just an outsider but I would guess that it does not really.

Of course I could be entirely mistaken.

    Sorry I wasn't very clear.

I was not saying there was no circle walking, I was saying there was no bagua at all from what I could see. I was just saying none of the ways the guy moved, held himself, or applied techniques, looked like any bagua I have seen.

    I could be wrong however.

What was in the video could have been anything.

Have a look at this vid, it contains a distinctly different type of body movement.

Is this a better representation of applied Baguazhang?

His name is Lyte Burly, he does mostly boxing and something called 52 Blocks, look at more of his videos as I know nothing about that other than passing knowledge as well.

52 Blocks is another supposed system of combat from American prisons-only seems to exist outside of prison, tho'.

So, if you knew this guy doesn't practice Baguazhang - why are you posting him up as an example of Baguazhang in application?:confused::confused:

You can see many body turning in the above clip. In combat, can you afford to turn your back onto your opponent?

The Bagua "circle walking" that move the leading leg first is very risky in combat.

The only time I would give my back willingly to my opponent is if I am already setting up the spinning backfist. Even then, I don't use the technique much.
