just look for any jkd instructor. inosanto lacoste is the FMA taught within jkd

you'll have fun whoever you train with

Forgive me ignorance but does jkd use weapons aswell as empty hand drills?

JKD - MMA geared more toward self defence - therefore yes weapons is a large part of training

Depends on the school - pretty much any Inosanto lineage does

Haha, cool man, bearing in mind that Glasgow to Edinburgh is about an hours drive away, then another hour to get to the other side of the town. Lmao

Tommy is "marmite" in the JKD world

He will certainly NOT offer Kali instruction

    Thanks for the advice,
Per your advice am going to try krauseworld,
While he does have a wikepedia page he has several pages worth of people saying he's no good, currently on my phone so cant post links but a quick google was all i did,

The only reason i asked about tommy carruthers is because two people on this thread recomend jkd and he came up with classes in Glasgow, people on another website said when booking classes with him he was just rude to them, was just asking other people what they thought.

Thanks for all the help guys.

If you want what is effectively Jun Fan Gung Fu then Tommy is a good choice.

For what you want you should avoid him

He teaches a "different" version of what we learn. Nothing bad about it, it just might not be what you are looking for.

You want to learn Kali and JKD, he teaches you to fight essentially "Like Bruce Lee", which was great.... For Bruce Lee.

he just wants weapons training in inosanto-lacoste, not JKD concepts. wont krause cover inosanto lacoste? They do silat and kali.
