I found a motherboard in my loft recently, and have tried to find out its model/serial number, but no luck.

I have typed in everything that remotely looks like a serial number, but nothing comes up

Any ideas as to how I can find out about this, as I want to try and sell it...

It might be from the days before standards were set. Think you can get a picture of it up for us?

Looking at it I'd assume the serial number is the one on the orange sticker. Not quite sure why I think that one, but I do.

However, and someone please correct me if I'm wrong, but are those ISA buses on the board? How old is it?

If you're able to start the mobo, perhaps the POST info will tell you more. Else, you could run Lavalys's EVEREST Home Edition, a freeware program that gives you a very in-depth report about your computer, including what parts you use.

Cheers for that, slightly older than I'd thought though

Don't give up on your old hard-working machine bro!

    Take a look at this:

    Awesome hey!!!

Old tired Windows-based box revitalised with Linux-Knoppix.

Things that old things can still do, hey. Like turning an old 70s car into a high-powered killing machine.

    :)
