Actually the double leg is one of the easiest to teach with a grappling dummy. You have to hold the dummies head. Young kids love doing double leg on a dummy.
Speaking of Budoshin, in the check-in thread another poster says he's a Sandan after 8 years in that style. Is it just me or does that seem suspiciously quick?
I think he means you could do the others in person. Double could work with a single-double rather than a lifting double. If they can lift one of your legs (with your kind assistance)
Actually it's possible. 5 years to Shodan, 2 more to nidan and a tournament {combat} promotion to Sandan. Not likely but possible.
I am the Sandan mentioned in another post. I will admit the system I have studied has its flaws, but any Martial art has them. As for my rank I was promoted one rank by showing Amazing tenacity and superior understanding.
No, That would be ridiculous, but I understand that is how it sounded. I am sorry for being to broad. I received a Kyu grade for it.
Which Kyu grade did you skip? I'm just trying to understand this. I know it happens but how reasonable it is depends a lot on the grade and your grading system such as how many kyus you have.
I jumped from blue to purple. Normally 7 Kyu's and we have a by numbers scoring system where the examining Sensei rate the technique.
You have to be careful about leaving your own ideas about grading systems behind when things like this happen. My first rank was Nidan, for example.
