Hello all, I was wondering about this leaflet i got for a local karate and kickboxing club, basically they do teenagers/adult classes from 7pm to 7.45 pm. 45 minutes of karate or kickboxing? Isn't that a bit short? Also the kickboxing is light contact kickboxing, anyone got any info or comments? Thanks
I would say it's a bit short, considering that there should be a 15-20 minute warm-up included in the time.
yeah i was thinking that too, kinda bizzare, ya need 15-20 mins for warm up and for coolingd own afterwards, i fear it might be a mcDojo?
can only give information provided in the advert: Highland black belt academy HBBA teaches: Freestyle sport karate and light contact kickboxing Specialist classes for adults, teenagers, young children, 4-7 and 8-12 years of age. classes are all 45 mins long and are getting done in Aviemore, its done in grantown-on-spey at the ymca (tang-soo-doo?), Forres and Elgin, but i aint 100% sure. http://www.morayblackbelt.com/index.asp I think there all related... check out the webpage
Scarlet Mist's classes are mostly an hour (although he has one 45 min class), he thinks most martial arts clubs have classes that run for one hour. His school also does light contact sparring, only because they want to minimize the risk of serious injury.
