    ???? One Hit ????

While these threads always jog memories - you'll have to due better homework people in the definition/or clarification of a "one hit wonder".

A Flock of Seagulls were not a one hit wonders - Exhibits B & C for the Seagulls' Defense!

This is also problematic on an international board like this - as many music groups/singers have say multiple successes in Europe but may only have one chart hit in the USA ?

Yeah kinda like Falco. Several hits in Europe but Rock Me Amadeus was his only one in North America.

hilarious thread... these are all the tunes that are a guilty pleasure... ahhahahahaha.... it was an interesting time in music that's for sure. There were tons of awesome tunes that came out in this era... not only for the whole New Wave scene but also the punk scene (Bad Brains, The Ramones, Subhumanz, Black Flag, Exploited, Circle Jerks etc) and the goth scene - which would go to being something much bigger later on (Bauhaus, Christian Death, Love and Rockets, 45 Grave etc). Often times one scene is a response or a backlash to a previous scene... sometimes they coexist peacefully... and other times they clash. The Clash were anything but one-hit-wonders and had tons of great music in this era... on the American punk scene many bands were getting started about this time that led into the hardcore and straight edge scene scene (Minor Threat, Cro Mags, Descendants, JFA, Gorilla Buscuits, Judge, No For an Answer, United Front) . Good stuff... good memories! In SoCal the punk and hardcore shows were usually at The De Anza Theatre and Fenders in Long Beach. Ages ago. Sniff.

I was surprised no one had posted this:
