I'd hope more like Privateer, Starlancer or X3 Reunion, but I think I might be the only person who played those games. :[
Yeah, that was my first thought... but then I realised no-one would buy it. I reckon Grand Theft Star Wars would be a good compromise point.
It would be too expensive to make. Probably more so than the movie. They would have to get a studio on board to making a game of this magnitude with high costs for 2-3 years. That's why so many movie games tend to be cash grabs or for a niche market.
The Old Republic. Knights of the Old Republic 1 & 2. Jedi Academy. Republic Commando. The Force Unleashed 1 & 2.
KOTOR (Knights of the old republic) 1 and 2 FTW. If you get KOTOR 2 (PC) make sure you download the restored content mod which adds a lot of stuff they left out rushing it out for production. Restarted playing KOTOR on Android and I had forgot how good these games were.
There is apparently an open world Star Wars in the works right now. Whether or not it will be Jedi based is still up in the air.
I will not be satisfied with an open world star wars game if it doesn't include dog fighting in a YT-1300 freighter that I keep running by modifying and repairing it.
Couldn't agree more. As much as I love Skyrim and Fallout its not for the narrative elements. Bethesda excel n making a beautiful, memorable, explorable world but they suck at narrative execution, set pieces, dialogue and characterisation. Even a lot of their gameplay mechanics and interfaces need work.
Pretty much. Great stories, great settings, and even good character models (even if slightly repetitive). Their physics suck, the voice acting is like 4 people, the camera is infuriating and the AI is clunky. I'll take Rocks tar, or even those guys that did Shadow of Mordor over Bethesda for making a new Star Wars game. Of course Lucas Arts do it well, but only when they put a he'll of a lot of effort into it.
I can count on one hand the good games EA came out with. Black & White 2 FIFA (arguable) ?????????????? ?????????????? ??????????????
