HY me again. umm. we train a lot of jurus lately and there is a technique where we point te fingers in a bird beak kind of form and with the wrist we beat up to the chin. I thought some sort of wrist uppercut or something. My question is whether there are other styles that use this technique? and what the real name of this technique is?
There is something similar in a few MA's including Lau Gar although i am not entirely sure how or when to use it effectively.
It's in many styles of Karate (called Koken). Check out the goju-based kata "Tensho". There's koken at with either hand and both at once.
also called kakuto in karate. also used as a defensive technique [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=15UrTvfiUWA"]YouTube- Kyokushin Karate Encyclopedia (Iko1-Matsui) - 12[/ame] (around 4:30) [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4BxKQbTZ594"]YouTube- koken uchi traning 2ngo[/ame]
