Wrestling forum

Just a quick suggestion I thought of.

Given the fact that boxing was given its own style forum in recognition that it is, in fact, a martial art (despite being Western and a sport), how about a wrestling style forum? Quite a few people on this site do it, so how about it?

 

I think its under submission fighting/MMA (although not all wrestling is submissions )

 

I think it deserves it's own spot too. Obviously it depends on how many people post in it though.

Even though I don't care for Wrestling, I think it does deserve it's own forum.

Catch, Greco Roman, Fresstyle, they all need to be in one forum.

I think a wrestling forum is a great idea. There are many wrestling styles (sport styles like Western, Greco-Roman, and amateur; fighting styles like Sambo, Boke, and Shuai Chiao; fake styles like pro and Lucha Libre),and many discussions on things unique to wrestling would probably happen. Also, it would be a good area for ppl to discuss grappling moves from all arts. I think a wrestling forum would act as a focus. Maybe it should be a sub-forum.

 

I think this is a great idea, as long as it caters for all styles of wrestling (american/"fake", shoot etc). I used to do wrestling, too, and if we're doing a headcount here you can count me in as a regular poster

 

I think if there is a Wrestling forum, I think it should focus on:

Greco Roman
Freestyle
Catch
Shooto/Shootfighting
Shuai Chaoi
Mongolian Wrestling
Sambo

 

Also Sumo and Ssireum.

 

When will this forum be put up?

 

When it meets the requirements.

Just because a few people want it, doesnt mean it automatically gets made (look at the Wing Chunners, for example)

 

Anth, it's hardly a few people. Quite a lot of people on this site do wrestling, more so than those who do kuk sool won or tsd, both of which have their own forums. Wrestling should at least have a subforum in the mma/submission fighting area.

Alot of people do Wrestling. Or if they don't do it now, might have done it before.

Look at all the people who do Kuk Sul Won, does that meet the requirement? No.

There should be a Wrestling forum.

 

I dont wrestling but I would still be interested in a forum on it, it would give me another place to ask about the various ways for me to avoid getting beatings.

 

I know it's been said, but it can cover many different styles in there.

I've been doing wrestling, too.

Isn't wrestling one of the oldest martial arts there is? I remember reading that there have been paintings from many many thousands of years ago, picturing many of the grips that exists today.

It's a good idea. A Wrestling forum would be great
