I've spoken to two different Judo Senseis and both have recommended picking 3-4 techniques and practising them until they become a second nature, rather than trying to be good at 45 different throws. Is this the route everyone takes? Which throws have you chosen, and why? Was it due to a genuine enjoyment of the technique, or more of a necessity due to your speed, size, technical ability, etc? I remember always struggling to throw a lead hook with good power, but always feeling that my jab and straight right were solid considering my limited boxing experience. On the flipside, are there any techniques that constantly catch you out and work well against you? Cheers lads.
