Hi matt, those gloves look like the ones used in mixed martial arts, which have striking and grappling. I dont know what Martial art you train in, but if you grapple and strike when sparring these might be ok. Best thing to do is ask your instructor or sensei.

    Matt

Just get the ones I showed you in the last thread you created about this.

Those gloves are NO GOOD for general sparring.

The gloves he is referring to are on page 2 of the thread you posted entitled "what gloves or mitts for point sparring". It's near the bottom of this forum.

right, so you honestly think golden coloured gloves that look like peaces of space marine armor are cool for serious ma training? macho warrior gear

    Matt,
If point sparring is your style then stick with the Adidas WKF Homologated Karate Mitts or something similar.
If you train grappling as well, then a freefight/mma type of glove is probably a good choice; the ones in your picture seem alright.

At any rate, I bet your teacher knows what kind of gear is right for you!

    Cheers:)

Anyway, the Macho range comes in a wide variety of colours, and is the best I have used.
