Weight classes

    Before there were jr and super middleweight divisions WW champions would challenge Mw champions and sometimes win while MW champs would challenges LHW champs and sometimes win. So if those weight classes weren't needed then why now? Unless its like some say, extra weight classes were only created for the networks to make more money televising more championship fights? Or is that theory wrong?

    IMO a lot of it was to stop people cutting weight dangerously to squeeze in at a lighter weight (or alternatively to stop the same cutters annihilating others because they could make weight and then balloon up again)

    There are a lot weight classes and requirement for the each gym, 1)Kickboxing weight classes 2)Mixed martial arts weight classes3)Olympic weightlifting weight classes 4)Amateur sumo weight classes5)Taekwondo weight classes
    Weight class (boxing)6)Weightlifting at the Summer Olympics7)Wrestling at the Summer Olympics 8)Wrestling weight classes not more than as mentioned these.
