The book store Waterstone's has dropped the apostrophe to make web searches easier. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/debate/a...O-apostrophe-art-thou-.html?ito=feeds-newsxml The one establishment that should be fighting for correct grammer bows to the youth of today. It's wrong innit?
Since Google, and presumably other search engines too, ignores punctuation marks, it seems like something of a waste of time if their aim is to optimise web searches.
Should be stocking a wider range of books. I'm sick of going in there and finding shelves upon shelves of Katie Price's 'autobiography*' staring back at me. *I suspect the only part of that book she wrote was her name on the spine.
The real problem is they face going under in competition to Amazon, so Im not surprised, anything they can do (which is legal) to help save the company is going to be on the cards to help their high street stores. 24 hour opening and singles nights soon
Surely without a possessive astrophe, "I'm going to Waterstones" implies that you're getting your watering can and heading out to hydrate some rocks.
