"The Internet Explorer flaws that enabled the Russian attack, however, affect every user of the Web browser, because Microsoft has not yet released a patch. Microsoft advised users to set their browsers' security to the highest settings, even though doing so could break some Web functionality. The company also promised a patch for the flaws soon." Gotta love Firefox!
Apparently someone/something is trying to hack all vBulletin forums ... http://ezine.kungfumagazine.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=30949
it's an interesting one - VB.com seem to think it only affects older forums (version 2), but some of the sites that have been down recently (including ourselves) are version 3 as well. However, MAP did not lose any posts, but were instead hit with a DOS (Denial of Service) attack, so there may be several form of attack going on at the moment. vbulletin 3.02 should be due out this week, so I'm going to look at installing this as a priority in case it has patches for any potential security issues. I might even sneak some other minor upgrades into this process.
