This guy has been talking drivel on other subjects, now it seems he has turned his attention to WMA. [ame="http://www.amazon.co.uk/Illustrated-Guide-Viking-Martial-Arts/dp/075248060X/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1360930905&sr=1-1"]The Illustrated Guide to Viking Martial Arts: Amazon.co.uk: Antony Cummins: Books[/ame]
So now he's writing more rubbish on another subject he knows nothing about?! I can't believe the cheek of the man! :bang:
Page 1: Hit bloke with sword. Page 2: Stop bloke hitting you by using your shield. Page 3: Repeat pages 1 and 2 until you or other bloke are dead.
The good thing about "Viking martial arts" is that whenever you see those three words together, you know it's a fraud. We don't have any sources whatsoever on how vikings fought, and believe me, as a Norwegian, I've been browsing through most of the candidates. It's far more relevant to discuss Rohan martial arts, as we actually have some sources on how those fought (just watch the movies...)
I actually loled at the review on amazon. ''we have only chronicles describing feats of arms written as stories, that take a lot of study and reading between the lines. Mr Cummins, has studied these chronicles from a practical perspective useing his own martial experience''
Isn't Stav from Norway? Is that all a fraud too? I remember reading articles about it and was all a bit suspicious.
There are a number of threads in the Ninjutsu section about Mr Cummins. If you have masochistic tendencies you are welcome to plough through them, but I warn you, they may lead to the uncontrollable urge to gouge out your eyeballs with a spoon...
I posted on one of the ninja threads once...I'm still getting over the experience. It's become my Vietnam. Never again...
I don't know what the problem is. Who is more qualified to write about viking ma than the head of the historical ninja research team!
What experience? The last I saw of him he looked like he was having problems applying gyaku waza to a completely compliant uke!
After seeing this and his comments on MAP I've decided I'm going to write a book. It'll be a women's self defence book based on Sweedish mud wrestling, I'm currently trying to raise funds for research.
