In March 1899 a "New Art of Self Defence" called Bartitsu had been introduced in Britain by E.W. Barton-Wright. Years before the birth of Bruce Lee and the JKD concepts, Barton-Wright combined traditional English boxing, French savate, stick-fighting and Japanese jiu-jitsu, establishing himself as a pioneer of eclectic self-defence training. A website detailing the art of Bartitsu can be found through this link http://www.geocities.com/lone_wolf_92001/Index.html Louie
