It's actually called "purring" - there is a (very) old MAP thread on it here http://www.martialartsplanet.com/forums/showthread.php?t=19001 It is an undeniably useful technique, but the actual contest seems to be about as useful as ramming heads together to see who gets concussed first. Karl Gotch recalled watching a match once where one guy was permanently crippled in a purring match over a gallon of beer!
