Possibly a sign that all the karate guys who say they don't like UFC weren't just bitter because none of their own got a shot - they genuinely don't like UFC.
You may be right...but I don't get it though. You see someone using the techniques and movements in which you train to such good effect that he is able to beat elite opponents with ease, without taking a stratch and while staying totally relaxed and in control. How can you not be a fan of that?
The vast majority of karatekas who don't enjoy the UFC (MMA) probably haven't seen a lot of UFC or MMA and thus haven't seen Machida.
