Probably the wrong time of idea to be thinking about this, but anyway..

Do any of you train outside? By that I mean further that your back yard.

I want to practice kata more, but inside my house or the garden is too small. I could walk over to the park but would then potentially get hassled groups of youths.

    Any suggestions?

Do it early in the morning in the park. That's what I used to do when I lived in town :)

I've run through Kata outside in the park and also basic weapons drills with a partner. I used to incorporate it as part of a running route, at the end simply add the kata / drills and stretches. Never had any problem with locals / yout's, but then I'm daft enough to ask them to join in....... and try an recruit them to the club.

We also go to France to train in the summer, and all that is outdooors - but on private land - so no hassle from any locals.!

training outside is quite a positive experience (weather permitting), and I prefer it to being in a sweaty hall somewhere.

I sometimes go through a form or two in the park after a run. Sometime people stare or laugh. It doesn't bother me.
