on july 29th i once again took part in the tough guy comp, http://www.toughguy.co.uk/ and about halfway through i was thinking "what an idiot", for putting myself through this again. they have made it harder than last year, but i still managed to beat my time 2006 time : 2:55 2007 time : 2:31 no results have been uploaded to there website, so i don't know what possition i come yet. and the sad thing is that i will proberbly do it again next year.
Nice one mate. I stumbled across this the other day and am seriously entertaining the Idea of doing the next one. Parts of the course just look absolutely evil.
Moved to off-topic. You'll most likely get more input/exposure here. Me, I ain't a tuff guy. Unless you mess with my little girl :woo:
oh man... hat's off to you. I saw a short little doco on this (BBC?) a year or two back and I thought... yeah that looks like brilliant fun. Not that it's not a complete ass kicker and then some... but it did look like good fun. A whole range of terrible things to put your body through. If I recall it was either a firefighter or an SAS or 1Para member that won it two years in a row (am I thinking the right thing?). In the doco I saw on it most guys started to shut down after a plunge into cold mucky water and whatnot... the underwater tunnel looks like what they showed. Absolute murder!! Anyhow... well done for jumping in the deep end! Big respect! edit: hahaha they have the Gurkha Grand National. Man this may be the best reason I've ever seen for a trip to England. *Slip eyes the overseas entry... (and ponders if he's man enough...)
Now now, let's not spoil the fun. Just saw the highlights of this year's event on youtube. Had never heard of it before until now. Really does look like alot of fun, might give it go sometime.
Challenging yourself rather than someone else. THATS what I call martial arts. Good onya. regards koyo
Could always do tough guy and prove we're better. Come to think of it, I was talking with Dave about it last year.
tough guy is wicked fun, but damn hard, and loads of girls as well as guys do it. i would whole hartedly recomend it at least once. thx for all the nice comments too, allmost makes all the aches and cuts after the event worth it
I seriously considered doing it this year, but was riddled with illness earlier in the year, and so knew that I wouldn't be able to compete to the best of my ability. Am definitely going to do it next year though. Em
