    Thanks!

I will be testing on April 13. Have to do my one-steps (28 of them), know the meanings of all 9 patterns, and sparring. No breaking this time.

    Hey KarateKid,

    Here's what you do.

Either go to the first post with all the belts or go to my sig. Right click on the belt you want and go to properties. Copy the url of the picture. Go to your User CP and then go to Edit Signature. Paste the url in there and then preview the sig to see if it worked.

Don't forget the [IMG] at the end.

Congrats again on the new BB!

    OK... they this.

Go to your edit sig page. At the top there are the usual font, size, color etc.
underneath that to the right you will see some symbols. IF you hold the mouse over the first one it should read "insert image". When you select that a script will open. paste the url in there and hit OK.

Let me know if that works for ya.

My favorite is a school near me. (Not mine).

    You only get one belt.

    It starts white.
    Then you dye it yellow.
Then you add blue to make green.
Then you add red to make brown.
    Then you dye it black.

Very simple and fits with the tradition that we are taught in our school which is that you never wash your belt because it is where you store your knowledge.

I tend to store most of my knowledge in my head, I try not to wash that either.

we were told not to wash our belts as it ruins them. Though Sacketts reason sounds better

    different belt colors

Why every school has different belt colors?

Thats what we got, I just don't get it who came up with those colors....

    WHITE - 12th Gup
    YELLOW - 11th Gup
    PURPLE - 10th Gup
    ORANGE - 9th Gup
    GREEN - 8th Gup
    BLUE - 7th Gup
    BLUE STRIPE - 6th Gup
    BROWN - 5th Gup
    BROWN STRIPE - 4th Gup
    RED - 3rd Gup
    RED STRIPE - 2nd Gup
POOM (Black Belt Candidate) - 1st Gup
    BLACK - 1st Dan
    BLACK - 2nd Dan

Because the colours are pretty much arbitrary so it doesn't matter which colour you have, only that your colour is different from the other colours and your instructor knows what they mean.
