Just for the classes, but I have a little problem. They are all full of women (of all ages). Mostly they go in, put in a little bit of effort whilst chatting to each other, and I feel I'll look like an idiot/show-off/whatever when I'm trying to burst myself. I'd like a class where I was the least fit. And there are NO guys :/
Mostly for the classes, the actual classes are pretty solid and quite efficient. Good circuits and good training equipment.
Ok then, my advice. Do your thing and don't let less serious people lower the quality of your workout. My instructor says this about two person sets. If one person is better, more serious, etc- then the hope is that the other person's form and attitude get elevated to that of the more serious person. Not that the more dedicated person drops their standards to the other partner's lower standard. Be the example to elevate your class! I know what you mean though. I went to a group class at another location and NO ONE besides me was doing the classic sounds/ yells during class. I felt very conscious of the fact. During the break, I asked the instructor if he wanted me to be quieter. He said, no- he wanted others to take my example and make more sounds! If your intention is not to show off, then you aren't showing off. You are just working out hard!
Yeah I joined Gym Group, same kinda thing (24hrs. £15pcm). Apart from nothing heavier than 30kg DBs and basically 1 flatbench. The classes seems OK, I also happen to know a trainer or 2 in the one I go to. But as usual, you also got to think about who comes in. Its a lot of posers and people who have NO CLUE what they're doing. I suggest, like in MA class, concentrate on your own training and ignore (when able) others. Trust me, if I could sneak video some of the crap I see...... - Bear crawls, whilst on a yoga ball , throwing knees. - Grip strengthening, using the clips - Bicep curls, 2.5kg on either side, drop like a pipe bomb and then look at abs. - Bad cross fit...Deadlift, burpee, Right punch, left punch combo....in orthodox stance x 20mins. now enough of my workout....
Basically this: [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xqmDWtOtKnY"]Agility Exercises - The Bear Crawl - YouTube[/ame]
Imagine how a bear crawls, like Spiderman crawls essentially but he was bouncing ontop of a large yoga ball. Its a sight..
