That's definitely kind of lame for a tattoo : P. At least put some armor, demon eyes, and ninja masks on them!
The guy on the left is doing a "hello sailor" with his leg! And the other guy has wimpy arms (no not the UK burger restaurant)
Well, I'm not interested in getting a tattoo just to look good. The whole idea was to get something about karate.
I think the picture you've chosen is a bit bland. Perhaps you could run it by some local artists and see what they could do with it. What exactly are you trying to portray with this piece? Just "I love karate"? And do you know what those particular kanji mean? Also, that's probably a bit large for an arm tattoo unless you're Hulk Hogan.
The kanji mean karate-do. Or the way of the empty hand. What kind of thing would you have in mind to make it more interesting? I kinda like the outline thing.
That's really the key point isn't it? It's your body man, if you like it then who cares what other people think
If the outline is your cup of tea, go for it! In the end, it's your body. I just prefer more life-like pictures. Also, maybe something that makes it more about you and/or whatever style(s) of karate you practice. It just seems really generic. I wish I could provide more help, but I am not a karate practitioner.
