Sorry for the lack of understanding, but I think I've found a new school and this is the art they teach. I'll meet them on Thursday but thought I'd get a head start and ask here. Thanks all.
I dont really know a great deal about it but if I am correct Tang soo do was a traditional Korean martial art practiced by one of the kwans before the war. Sounds interesting, keep us informed of what you thought of the class.
There's similar threads in this forum that explain the art more thoroughly. But, in a nut shell, it's a traditional Korean art that takes heavy influence from Japan and China. We predominantly fight on our feet, and have strong techniques similar to Karate. We also do some take downs and different joint-locking. That's basic Tang Soo Do as a style. Other than that, it's each individual school's choice about what other techniques to add to their curriculum.
I stopped in but the place was closed the day instructor was out ill. So it'll be next week some time.
