(You're gonna hate this.... :D ) Taoist lovemaking techniques enable you to go for hours without 'losing one's essence' which means you can 'do the job' properly - whereas a more 'external' approach to Ms Crawford would be "Oh my god it's Cindy Cr......." (SQUELCH) to which she'd likely reply "Nevermind it happens to every guy sometime..." ROFLMAO
Taiji practice (done correctly ie slow) is reknowned for boosting sexual energy - and developing good essence or jing. Jing is the power we develop for martial art and is derived from QI(Shadow take note) This is expressed fast in combat (and some of it will often be lost) but there is no point in doing that in training as you have to build it all up again ime. Aggressive emotion and muscle reflex inhibit the flow of QI and the development of good jing. ('Stagnation' was the wrong word earlier btw that's what happens long term 'Inhibition' 'Locking' would be more acurate for the short term effect on qi of aggro feelings)

    Another thought -
 'Aggressive' fighting is essentially external MA stuff
Hence any argument is between EMA and IMA and therefore fundamentally redundant....
    Put simply:
If you practice EMA develop aggression that's what it's all about. If you practice IMA master Aggression that's what it's all about
Chalk or Cheese - take your pick

Don't know any but I'm sure they're out there....
Google: Tao of Love and Sex, Jolan Chang, Taoist Lovemaking etc etc
    here's the first one:
    http://www.google.com/search?source...WE,RNWE:2004-38,RNWE:en&q=Tao+of+Love+and+Sex
There's plenty of BS out there and conflicting info on the right methods....as usual.... but ime check out Jolan Chang and Daniel Reid's books on the subject also Mantak Chia and Lu Kan Yu.... If you cherry pick (sic) from them you'll get some good stuff to practice....
One word of warning - explain what you are doing to any partners you practice with... most western women (and men) have been brainwashed regarding the relationship between male ejaculation and male orgasm - the Tao teaches they are unrelated events if you master the Arts of Love.....!!
    Check it out

Its that simple different philosophy was is so difficult to understand about that. Hmmmmmm as for Cindy crawford i think i could hold on but give me Vanessa Paradis wow i think i would go the EMA route.

It won't help you that much when you are up against someone with equal or more brute strength and aggression. Don't you think it might be at least helpfull to you to have some other tactics up your sleeve? Taijiquan is both a yielding/absorbing art as well as an attacking/issuing art.

TB put it very well when he reffered to it as an exchange of energies. His post is very good.- personally TB I can see the benefit of both v.slow/slow and fast practice. I feel it is important to go as fast as possible while keeping the principles, otherwise your body will struggle to hold onto a state of 'sung' when pushed to its limits (not used to it). If anything it is a good guage of where you are.

KC I hope you can keep an open mind about tcc, a lot of people try tai chi from an external backround and can see the benefit of its approach.
Surely you can't think that we are all deluded. The fact that quite a few of us have expended mental energy to extoll its virtues to you should count for something. We are not lying to you...
You said yourself that a friend of yours does TC. Does he share your views?

We, like you don't think/strategize when the time comes, we do what needs to be done as efficiently as possible. We are approching it from a different angle. The method is designed for a purpose which has been explained already.....(whether you agree or not, it can be made to work - and it does not have to take that long)
Personally I think you should keep an open mind, at least untill you try it properly yourself, otherwise how can you really make fair comment on it?

Anyway - if you find that it's not for you (if you try it), you always have your own 'style' to fall back on - which by the way, going by some of your recent comments does not sound all that different to mine (thug situation)- all that different from mine (in essence). I've dealt with things that way in the past (B4 tcc). A leopord doesn't change its spots - but it can learn some new tricks. I was 31 when I started, I'm now almost 34. Before that I'd done boxing, kickboxing (still do pancrase) amongst other things, so I am no stranger to ma/fighting.
I have also in my time (still do sometimes) mixed with what some would describe as 'unsavoury circles' and seen/been involved in my fair share of 'crap'. So I don't think I am unqualified to tell you that taijiquan can be very good if you let it.

Unlike you though I wouldn't run off, I'd stay and finish him off :D (joke) ;)

It is a bit of a cliche to describe tai chi people as calm peace loving characters etc. Some of the best fighters from the Yang family are described as being rather harsh in nature. Yang shao hou was overlooked as head of the family art for Yang Chen Fu due to some apparently unpallatable habits.... (I wouldn't of held it against him) - I'm good like that ;)

I have not found 1 Tai Chi school that teaches it as a combative art, more a pass time for old people.

My mate told me about the training he had to endure. Such as standing in horse riding stance and being kicked. He told me his Tai Chi friends literally could not be hurt, its the same with him. I have spared him many times, and no matter how many times you get a good hit in, he doesnt even feel it.

I never disregard any art or style, I want to study everything.

It doesnt matter how strong you are, a good chin shot with your elbow will floor even the biggest person.

Most of the regular members in this forum either train tai chi as a combative art, or have a skilled teacher who can offer this if they want. It's easy to find if you look around.

I'd recommend Keith Brown (teaches in Glebe), he's one of Erle Montaigue's head students and teaches a very martial tai chi. Sydney is full of teachers that specialise in (esp.) tai chi, bagua and chin na (joint locking/manipulation). I'd check out Chinatown (and the Chinese Gardens in the morning in the weekends), and also Sydney Uni (hook up with Kingsley Fong if you want a demo - he's a good guy). A lot of the kung fu schools also teach tai chi, but their fighting style would likely be influenced by wing chun/kung fu.

Yep, a lot of the old masters were notoriously hard on their students to train them in realistic fighting (e.g. to the level of broken bones/bleeding in training). Not very PC but the students turned out to be great fighters.

Yep, that's true (and usually trained) in any style, incl TCQ

Question for you Mr Taiji Butterfly lol,
If a guy can slow everything down with his Jing energy, can the same be used for a woman ?. If a guy is used to this technique then could he also try and steal the females energy and would it be good karmically as you would almost be a energy vampire which can't be good for the both of you.
Pm me or email the answer if you like Taiji.
