Luckily I don't have to, you have to prove it does. Anything asserted without evidence can be dismissed without evidence.

If you agree with that then we should just tear up the trades description act and all forms of advertising law.

    Why wood?

I think the peanut gallery has exhausted the standard jokes on this topic...

Seriously, why does it need to be wood? I use an old 12lb bowling ball wrapped inside a basketball shell and sealed with duct tape. Is there something about the weight or texture of wood?

I would prefer a medicine ball but they are too expensive.

Hehe ... you're wrong. It influences everything you do. Even your professed 'lack' of philosophical perspective is a philosophical perspective that influences you for as long as you think and breathe. What is it you fear?

@Xingyiren ... who cares if he want's wood? Wood feels better to some, but obviously not for you. That is cool bananas!

Inncorrect, it doesn't influence everything I do. In fact my instincts and genetic predispositions influence me far more than philosophy. As studies have shown most of our decisions are all ready taken long before they even reach the conscious mind.

A return to an age of superstition and ignorance when people like me were hunted down and burned as heretics. Any slip back to barbarism must be rigorously resisted.

You're in luck a good quality medicine ball is easy to make. Any used basketball will do. So will many other types of balls. There are quite a few tutorials online on how to make your own. A quick bit of Google-fu turned up these:

    Thanks Slip!

You think they'll hold up to slams and being chucked around?

Hmm... you do run the risk of explosions if slammed! :p

If you're going to go heavy on the slams then I'd suggest getting a proper med ball that is solid rubber. Nike makes a good one. I've got several of those and then I've got several of the leather ones with a laced gusset... very old school looking. I used them for stuff that doesn't require slams.

Though to be honest if you're outdoors and you can afford to blow a medicine ball once in a while... then I'd say make them over buy them. Wrap that bad boy in duct tape and you're pretty much not going to go wrong.
